Bergen, Norway
The charming port city of Bergen is framed by seven hills on Norway's south-west shore. Bergen’s bustling waterfront and narrow streets of colourful half-timbered houses combine with a proud musical and maritime heritage. Ride the funicular railway up Mount Floyen for city views. Visit Troldhaugen Museum to see Edvard Grieg's musical heritage comes to life or explore the artwork on display at KODE. The 900-year-old Bryggen, a wharf that features museums and pubs, guides you through the city's sea-faring past, while locally-caught seafood can be found at Bergen Fish Market. Discover family fun at Bergen Science Centre and Bergen Aquarium or explore the city's sights on a Segway tour.

Kristiansund, Norway
Your next stop is Kristiansund built across four islands - Kirkelandet, Innlandet, Nordlandet, and Gomalandet - connected by bridges and ferries on Norway's western coastline. Admire the Klippfiskkjerringa Sculpture created by Tore Bjørn Skjølsvik and visit The Norwegian Clipfish Museum - both built to commemorate the city's rich klipfish history. Meander around the Gamle Byen old town, pay a call on Mellemvaerflet Shipyard Musem, and enjoy the attractive Art Nouveau interior and performances at the 20th-century Festiviteten Theatre. Take a hike to the Varden watchtower to witness panoramic vistas and discover Grip Island's colourful houses and Grip Stave Church. Kristiansund is also your gateway to the dramatic Atlantic Ocean Road - which zigzags across bridges, from island to island, along the ocean's edge - it starts 30km southwest of Kristiansund and ends 47km north of Molde.

Sortland, Vesteralen Norway
Sortland, the largest town of the beautiful Vesterålen archipelago, is one of Northern Norway’s most unique destinations. Nicknamed ‘Blue Town’, Sortland showcases various shades of blue, thanks to an idea put forward by artist Bjorn Elvenes at the start of the new millennium. With the help of other local artists and residents; Sortland became a living 3D painting with a mix of architecture including Swiss style wood, concrete, and glass structures. Explore the town's attractions such as art exhibitions, the early 20th-century church, and the downtown's ‘Writings on a Field of Blue’. You can also discover Vesterålen's natural treasures - rugged, unspoilt countryside landscapes, miles of gorgeous island coastline, and the archipelago's surrounding waters are home to seals, seabirds, and whales. In the summer months it is possible to experience the magical Midnight Sun here; and in the winter, you just might be lucky enough to witness the awe-inspiring Northern Lights.
7
Honningsvag, Norway
Honningsvåg is your gateway to Norway's North Cape on Magerøya Island. Located in Nordkapp Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county; this is the northernmost city in mainland Norway and the true land of the Midnight Sun. From mid-May to July, the full disc of the sun never dips below the horizon. In winter, the days barely lighten to a spectral gloom. To the north lies only the remote Svalbard Archipelago, Jan Mayan Island, and the polar ice cap. From the cliffs of the North Cape, perched 1,000 feet above the Arctic Ocean, you can literally stare into the Arctic silence. During the summer months, vast reindeer herds roam Magerøya Island's treeless, central plateau.
8
Hammerfest, Norway
The town of Hammerfest is located on the north-western coast of the island of Kvaloya in Norway’s Finnmark County. The world's northernmost town; Hammerfest boasts an ice-free harbour and is home to the impressive Hammerfest Church. Learn about the life of the local polar bears at the Royal and Ancient Polar Bear Society and explore local history after WWII at the Museum of Reconstruction and the UNESCO-listed Meridian Column. Get active with a zigzag walk up Salen Hill to admire town-wide views and beyond. No visit here would be complete without sampling authentic Sami food, fresh sushi, or traditional Norwegian seafood.
9
Alta, Norway
Alta stretches along 15km of coastline in the Finnmark County in Norway. Inhabited by the indigenous Sami people since prehistoric times; Alta is considered to be one of the best places to experience the Midnight Sun in the summer and see the Northern Lights in the winter. Gaze in awe at the modern-style Northern Lights Cathedral; explore the UNESCO-listed ancient rock carvings at Alta Museum and Hjemmeluft; and then enjoy the thrill of husky sledding and snowmobiling through Arctic landscapes. Altafjord and Altaelva River offer some of the best salmon fishing in the world. Don't miss a visit to the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel - a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Relax with coffee and cake in a pavement cafe or dine on locally-caught fish in one of the many restaurants. Walk up Mount Aksla for spectacular views; see the time capsule and Viking ship replicas at Jugendstilsenteret and Sunnmore Museums; and feed the fish at Atlanterhavsparken.
