P&O Cruises Iona
Iona’s naming ceremony: watch it all from your ‘front-row seat’ at home
P&O Cruises’ Iona has been officially named in a special ceremony in Southampton – hosted by Jo Whiley and featuring performances by Gary Barlow and The Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir - and we’re thrilled to share the highlights with you!
Hays Travel’s very own Dame Irene Hays was Iona’s Godmother and named the ship with a bottle of Alex James’ Britpop cider smashed on Iona’s bow. We also saw messages of support from some of the Hays Travel team, who were thrilled that Dame Irene played a special role.
Iona sets sail on her inaugural cruise in just 11 weeks time…
Are you ready to see the world in widescreen? P&O Cruises’ newest and most innovative ship was designed to invite the outdoors in. Gazing out from the stunning SkyDome, three-tier glass Grand Atrium, or the brand-new Conservatory Mini-suite Cabins, you’re never far from a spectacular view of the ever-changing horizon. Add into the mix a gin distillery and whole world of dining and entertainment on board and Iona has more than a few surprises in store.
Iona’s maiden season will see her sail from Southampton around the British Isles; before embarking on holidays to Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, and the Norwegian Fjords and Northern European City Escapes.
