Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
Puerto Plata is a city on the Dominican Republic's Atlantic north coast and is best known for its sandy shores. The city's old colonial-era centre is dominated by the 16th-century Fortaleza San Felipe, a Spanish fortress that now houses historical and military artefacts. A great spot to swim with dolphins and sharks is Ocean World Adventure Park or Playa Dorada is a great family day out to soak up some sunshine and enjoy the seaside. Witness scenic views across Puerto Plata with a ride on the cable car or pay a visit to Damajaqua Cascades with its beautiful waterfall and canyoning adventures. Museo Del Ambar is a fascinating Victorian building featuring preserved amber and a gift shop brimming with unique amber jewellery.

Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas
Charlotte Amalie is the capital of the US Virgin Islands and sits on the Caribbean Island of St Thomas. This idyllic island paradise boasts beautiful bays, equally gorgeous golden-sand beaches, and stunning, busy harbours that are perfect for whiling away the hours under the baking sunshine. Charlotte Amalie is renowned for its fine examples of Danish colonial architecture and the St Thomas Synagogue – the second oldest Synagogue in the Western Hemisphere; 17th century Blackbeard’s Castle – a US National Historic Landmark; and Fort Christian – the Virgin Island’s oldest standing structure. There is also an abundance of shops filled with locally-made crafts and gifts to indulge in some retail therapy, as well as a number of bars and restaurants serving delicious Caribbean treats. Ride the Skyride aerial tram to the east of the town to witness amazing vistas from Paradise Point.

St Johns, Antigua and Barbuda
St John's on the Caribbean island of Antigua is your next stop. This pretty capital city not only gives you access to Antigua's 365 stunning beaches; but is also packed with attractions including English Harbour and the historic Nelson's Dockyard. A visit to the colourful St John's street market is a must, and you’ll also find great shopping and dining in Heritage Quay. Travel to Shirley Heights Lookout for superb views of English and Falmouth Harbours. A 90-minute ferry ride from Bryson Wharf takes you to Antigua's sister island, Barbuda, to explore the Arawak Caves and Frigate Bird Sanctuary.

St George's, Grenada
Stop at St George's on the 'Spice Island' of Grenada. Nestling alongside horseshoe-shaped Carenage harbour; the cobbled streets of St George's are lined with pretty pastel-coloured heritage buildings. Step back in time at Grenada National Museum or explore Fort George and Fort Frederick. Head to the golden sands of Grand Anse Beach for a morning of sunbathing. The submerged gallery at Underwater Sculpture Park is a unique sight. Venture further afield to view local wildlife at Grand Etang National Park and the cascading waters at Annandale Falls.

Step ashore in Basseterre, the capital city of St Kitts and Nevis in the West Indies. Explore the shops and bars of The Circus or stop by the cathedral, courthouse, and fountain of Independence Square. On the outskirts of the city, you'll discover Fairview Great House and Botanical Gardens and to the northwest are Romney Manor and the Wingfield Estate. Pay a visit to South Friar's Bay in Basseterre's Saint George Parish; one of two bays that stretch along the coast of the isthmus that connects the Southeast Peninsula with the rest of St Kitts Island.
