One of eastern Europe's liveliest and most cosmopolitan cities — Budapest — offers plenty to see and do. The 19th-century Chain Bridge spans Danube River and connects the hilly Buda district with the flat Pest area. Ride the tram up Castle Hill to Buda's old town where you can step back to Roman times at Budapest History Museum and discover the World Heritage-listed Royal Palace. Admire Hungarian crown jewels at Parliament House or indulge in a hot thermal bath at Szechenyi Bath. Enjoy a photo opportunity at Heroes’ Square, before visiting Vajdahunyad Castle in nearby City Park. Savour a bird's eye view of the city from the Budapest Eye Ferris wheel and the famous Fisherman's Bastion.

Bratislava, Slovakia
The frontier town of Hainburg an der Donau sits on the right bank of the Danube in the Bruck an der Leitha district in Lower Austria; 4km southwest of Slovakia's Devin, 12km west of the Slovak capital Bratislava, and 43km east of the Austrian capital Vienna. Explore the town's 13th-century Wientor medieval gate, the Baroque-style Philippus-und-Jakobus-Kirche, and the new Martin Luther Kirche, built in 2011. Visit the ruins of Hainburg Castle; built in the 11th century by Emperor Henry III on Castle Hill. You can also chose a guided sightseeing tour in Bratislava, a visit to St Martin's Cathedral, or a hike to Bratislava Castle with your Adventure Host.

A highlight of any cruise is a day in Austria's capital city — Vienna. Steeped in history, Vienna is packed to the brim with wonderful sights — from the world-famous Opera House and Spanish Riding School to the Burgtheatre, Town Hall, St Stephen's Cathedral, Schonbrunn Palace, and Hofburg Imperial Palace. Visit Vienna's Leopold Museum, Kunsthalle Wien and Museum of Modern Art, or get up close to exotic wildlife at Tiergarten. Over the past few years, we’ve pushed the boundaries of European river cruising, carefully designing our three-tiered atrium and heated pool that seamlessly transforms into a cinema on selected evenings.
Choose from our array of suite and stateroom categories, each boasting a wealth of amenities you would expect to find in any world-class hotel. Our suites include ingenious all-weather balcony systems from which you can enjoy views of the passing scenery, a flat screen HDTV and infotainment system, luxurious toiletries and a hotel-style bed.
At the top of Emerald Dawn, Emerald Sun and Emerald Luna, the Sun Deck acts as an excellent communal area where you can enjoy the river breeze, raise a toast with new friends and relax as you watch Europe’s stunning natural beauty pass by.
Our vessels feature more than ninety generously-sized suites and staterooms, four of which are our Emerald Owner’s One-Bedroom Suites, which include an outdoor private balcony, a separate living room and bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe, a complimentary minibar and an invitation to dine in elegance at the Captain’s Table.

We believe food should reflect local flavours, which is why all our plates take inspiration from the regions we pass through. Our chefs source ingredients from local suppliers, creating menus that capture authentic regional cuisine whether you’re in Portugal, Germany, Vietnam or Cambodia.
And it isn’t just our food which provides a glimpse of local flavour; all our wines are handpicked to pair beautifully with our plates, sourced where possible from regional suppliers. What’s more, you can enjoy a glass or two on us during mealtimes, so whether you’re dining à la carte or grazing at the buffet, dining is always a culinary celebration.

What’s better than free meals? Free drinks perhaps? During mealtimes on-board Emerald Sun and Emerald Dawn, you’ll be able to enjoy complimentary drinks, including a selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. Alternatively, buy a drinks package to take advantage of our bar menu whenever you fancy throughout the day.

As the host on-board, our Cruise Directors strive to ensure there’s never a dull moment during an Emerald Cruises river cruise. With this in mind, a fantastic range of entertaining activities are available for you to enjoy.
Thanks to the unique design of our Star-Ships, we are able to host a unique event program throughout your cruise. In the Horizon Bar & Lounge, immerse yourself in ancient folklores, passed from one generation to another for hundreds of years, during an authentic show. Or, let the music of a nation sweep you off your feet as a local band takes to the floor in their traditional attire. Alternatively, catch that film you never got round to seeing during movie nights in the cinema.
