Kotor, Montenegro
Kotor is based on the Adriatic coastline in south-west Montenegro. One of the country's prettiest and most-famous towns, Kotor is an UNESCO World Heritage site and offers a range of historic landmarks and natural beauty spots. The old town district is filled with medieval architecture and monuments — as well as one of the narrowest streets in the world! From its Venetian-style gates to its former Austrian prisons, Kotor's past is kept alive for you to explore. Wander around the range of shops, and head to a bar or restaurant at a piazza to admire views of the mountains.
4
Dubrovnik, Croatia
The Croatian city of Dubrovnik sits on the country's southern coast on the Adriatic Sea. Explore the city centre — an UNESCO World Heritage site — with its 17th-century Cathedral of the Assumption and Rector's Palace, before walking around the ancient city walls. Admire the views as you ride the cable car to Mt Srd or visit one of the city's museums. Relax in the sunshine on Banje Beach; enjoy a boat trip to the nearby islands of Lokrum and Elafati; and view the city from the water on a kayaking trip or take a snorkelling tour.
5
Hvar, Croatia
The Croatian island of Hvar is best known for its natural beauty, scenic marina, and age-old monuments. The rich culture includes historic gothic palaces and the 13th-century walls that frame the squares. Visit the Spanish Fortress to see Hvar from above; the spectacular views of terracotta rooftops and turquoise waters will take your breath away. Wander St Stephen's Square and enjoy a coffee in one of the street cafes as you gaze upon Hvar Cathedral. Step inside the 15th-century Franciscan Monastery to feast your eyes upon the striking Last Supper painting. Hvar has a reputation as Croatia's premier party town with a wide choice of clubs, bars and restaurants, which offer daytime drinks as well as evening parties. For adventure, snorkelling is offered off-shore and island-hopping boat trips run daily.
6
Split, Croatia
Split, on Croatia's Dalmatian Coast, is the country's second-largest city. It's popular for its golden beaches and bustling centre — which was built around the fourth-century Diocletian's Palace. Today, the palace remains a central part of Split's heritage after its transformation into a variety of houses, flats, churches, and chapels. Stroll through the centre to admire the towering Cathedral of Saint Domnius with its 13th-century oak doors that tell the story of Christ. The Riva waterfront promenade runs the length of the old town and is the perfect place to stop for lunch. See cascading waterfalls at Krka National Park or relax and snorkel on the beach of Brac Island before departing.
7
Sibenik, Croatia
Nestled on the mouth of Krka River, the picturesque town of Sibenik is the gateway to the Kornati islands. Visit the awe-inspiring Cathedral of St James, a triple-knave basilica with three apses and a 32-metre high dome. Head to the majestic St Michael's Fortress on the hillside overlooking Sibenik Bay and enjoy the open-air theatre. Discover the town’s rich history and collection of artefacts at Šibenik City Museum or stop by the white-washed St Francis' Church and Monastery. Alternatively, spend an afternoon exploring the tropical fish and marine life at Aquarium Terrarium Šibenik.
8
Zadar, Croatia
Today you explore Croatia's Zadar — found on the Dalmatian Coast lining the Adriatic Sea. Zadar has a beautiful old town district filled with Roman ruins and century-old churches, including the 12th-century St. Anastasia's Cathedral and the Byzantine-style Donatus Church. Visit the Museum of Ancient Glass and the Roman Forum, before enjoying a cold beer or a coffee from a cafe at the lively People's Square. This historic port also features a selection of modern landmarks including Sun Salutation — an enchanting light show that plays from sunset to sunrise — and Sea Organ, which is a system of pipes and whistles found underwater that play music as the sea pushes air through it.
9
Pula, Croatia
10
Venice, Italy
Today your cruise comes to an end. Disembark and be transferred to the airport for your return flight back to the UK.
