Olden, Norway
Olden sits at the eastern end of the serene Nordfjord, where the water divides into three arms beneath the Jostedalsbreen glacier. The village is surrounded by green meadows with babbling brooks meandering between pretty houses. Visit the village centre to discover the 17th-century church and Singerheimen, which is the former home of the founder of the sewing machine company. Take to the Nordfjord for a rafting or kayaking adventure. Admire the green waters of Olden Lake and enjoy the cliffs and glaciers of the Oldedalen valley, which runs for 12 miles behind Olden.
