Lerici, Italy
Dubbed the Italian Riviera's next hot spot… Lerici is an attractive harbour town to the south-east of La Spezia with an attractive backdrop of rolling green hills. Stroll along the picturesque waterfront promenade - including of course a pause in one of the many restaurants. The most interesting part of Lerici is the historical quarter around the Via del Ghetto between Piazza Garibaldi and the castle. Nearby you will find the pretty little village at Tellaro, and another village resort and castle of San Terenzo - both are easy walks and recommended.
5
Portoferraio, Italy
Portoferraio is the capital and the main port of Elba Island and is located on the north-eastern coast, at the foot of a promontory that borders the bay. It is one of the oldest of the island’s towns, predates the old Roman city of Fabricia: traces of first settlements date to the Ligurians, Etruscans and ancient Greeks. Portoferraio is also known for hosting Napoleon Bonaparte, who lived here in exile from May 4, 1814, to February 26, 1815.
6
Corsica, France
Bonifacio's almost land-locked harbour is one of the most dramatic protected harbours. It’s a bustling port with seafood restaurants, and a modern marina. The ancient citadel is perched atop a seemingly impenetrable cliff.
7
Alghero, Sardinia
Alghero is the main resort in the northwest of Sardinia and one of it's most beautiful medieval cities. It's bustling historic centre is packed with excellent bars and restaurants making it a great place to hang out. It is also ideally placed for exploring the beaches of nearby Riviera del Corallo. Interestingly a form of medieval Catalan is still spoken even though the Iberians left three centuries ago. Make sure to go for a walk across its historical centre. Protecting the city there are the walls built in the 16th century and that run from Porta a Mare to Piazza Sulis, where you will be able to admire Sulis Tower.
8
St Tropez, France
It is said that the most spectacular way to approach the exquisite harbour of St. Tropez is by sea. St. Tropez is a people-watcher's paradise, so you will also want to explore her famous beaches, bistros and bars.

St Tropez, France
The St. Tropez Regatta, better known as the Voiles de Saint-Tropez, is the first sailing event on the Mediterranean coast. It is one of the most significant events in the world of yachting and certainly the most beautiful Mediterranean regatta. Both ultramodern yachts and rare wooden yachts participate in it. Yachtsmen from all over the world get together in the beautiful bay of Saint-Tropez to find out who is better. Yachtsmen of different levels of training, including beginners, take part in the regatta. Expect about 250 boats participate in the event.

Background
Royal Clipper
Overview
The inspiration for the luxurious Royal Clipper was the 1904-built Preussen and this is now the largest, and only, five-masted sailing ship conceived since that time. With her 42 sails fully deployed she is truly an awesome sight! With state-of- the-art navigation systems, all the comforts you could wish for and 106 crew attending just 223 guests, service levels on board are truly impeccable. The 1,760 square metres of open deck and three swimming pools create a wonderfully spacious outdoor environment and the open-air bar is the ideal place to chat with your like-minded traveling companions, discussing how the ancient Romans lived in Pompeii, why Dubrovnik is called the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ and if the Amalfi coast really is Europe’s most beautiful. As the sun slips gently below the horizon in an explosion of reds and oranges, unwind, sip an aperitif and acknowledge that life really doesn’t get much better than this!

Food & Drink

Our inspired chefs make dining aboard a delightful culinary adventure with an international menu of foods from the corners of the Earth.

Entertainment

Clearly, this is not a cruise ship in the ordinary sense.

On Star Clippers, you will find that there are no rigid schedules. You are free to do as you wish with your days – and evenings.

Now, is there anything more relaxing than this?

Friends gather round the piano bar and join in singing a few favourites. And in the Tropical Bar, the bartender shakes a pitcher full of some delicious cooling concoction. Now, is there anything more relaxing than this?

An authentic taste of the local music and arts

To entertain you at certain ports, we invite local performers, folk groups or musicians to liven up your evenings on board and our crew members are always ready to entertain you with games and nautical activities.

So rather than enduring another Broadway show, you can enjoy the conviviality of fellow shipmates while a live band plays tropical tunes from a real paradise.

The Captain and crew

The Captain and crew are superb improvisers of the kind of light-hearted fun you’ll only find on Star Clippers. The Captain’s daily briefing on deck is wonderfully informative and a chance to hear some great story-telling as well.
