Monemvasia, Greece
Situated in the municipality of Laconia in Greece, Monemvasia (meaning single passage) sits on the island off the east coast of the Peloponnese and is connected to the mainland by a short causeway. This castle town was built in the Medieval Ages and is visually impressive; it is carved into the slopes of a sea rock and boasts a range of guesthouses, boutique hotels, restaurants, and shops. A sight that shouldn't be missed is the Church of Elkomenos Christos which is located within the Castle of Monemvasia. Head to the top of the castle where you’ll discover breathtaking views. Outside the rock, the upper town is protected by castle walls and has a number of interesting towers and guardhouse ruins to explore.

Katakolon, Greece
The sleepy fishing port of Katakolon sits on the west coast of the Peloponnese, close to Pyrgos. The port is gateway to one of Greece's most famous landmarks - Olympia. Visit the ancient ruins of the Olympic Stadium where the sacred flame is lit each Olympic year. Pay a visit to the remains of the 7th-century BC Temple of Hera and the Temple of Zeus. Admire the classical, Roman and Greek treasures at the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. Pay a visit to the Mercouri Estate Winery to enjoy a wine tour and taste the wine.

Dubrovnik, Croatia
The Croatian city of Dubrovnik sits on the country's southern coast on the Adriatic Sea. Explore the distinctive Old Town — an UNESCO World Heritage site — with its 17th-century Cathedral of the Assumption, baroque St Blaise Church, the Renaissance Sponza Palace, and the Gothic Rector's Palace. Experience the shops and restaurants on the pedestrianised Stradun and take a leisurely walk around the ancient city walls. Admire the views as you ride the cable car to Mt Srd or visit one of the city's museums. Relax in the sunshine on Banje Beach; enjoy a boat trip to the nearby islands of Lokrum and Elafati; view the city from the water on a kayaking trip; or take a snorkelling tour.

Hvar, Croatia
The Croatian island of Hvar is best known for its natural beauty, scenic marina, and age-old monuments. The rich culture includes historic gothic palaces and the 13th-century walls that frame the squares. Visit the Spanish Fortress to see Hvar from above; the spectacular views of terracotta rooftops and turquoise waters will take your breath away. Wander St Stephen's Square and enjoy a coffee in one of the street cafes as you gaze upon Hvar Cathedral. Step inside the 15th-century Franciscan Monastery to feast your eyes upon the striking Last Supper painting. The Croatian fishing port of Rovinj sits on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. You'll find the old town on the port's headland and lots of houses tightly packed along the seafront. Explore the area's vibrant culture at Rovinj City Museum, Batana House Eco Museum, Trani Gallery, Workshop, and Ethno Collection; Adris Gallery, and Mini Croatia Outdoor Gallery. Step back in time at Archaeological Park Monkodonja, Villa Rustica, and St Damijan Quarry. Uncover the Adriatic's diverse underwater life at Rovinj Aquarium. Meander through the maze of cobbled streets up to the hilltop Church of St Euphemia with its impressive steeple. Spend time on the pebble-stone beach at Lone Bay to the south of the old town. Get up close to nature amongst the tree-lined paths, trails, meadows, and promenades at Golden Cape Forest Park. No visit here would be complete without admiring the archipelago of 14 islands that lie immediately off Rovinj's mainland.
