Athens, Greece

Athens — Greece's capital city — was the birthplace of democracy and western civilisation. The city features numerous 5th-century landmarks including the former temple of Parthenon and the Acropolis, an ancient citadel that sits on a hilltop overlooking the Plaka district. The historic Plaka neighbourhood is one of the oldest in the world and features winding streets lined with family-run bars and restaurants.

Day 5

Santorini, Greece

Curving around a majestic caldera, Santorini is one of the prettiest of the Greek Isles. Hop on the tender boat ashore, where the cable car will whisk you up to the cliff-top village of Thira with its quaint streets filled with restaurants, bars, and shops. Pay a visit to the cave houses at the beautiful village of Oia before heading down the steps to Amoudi Bay to feast on fresh seafood. Taste the unique beers at the Donkey Brewery close to the black pebbled sands of Kamari Beach. Explore the island's history at the Akrotiri archaeological site or admire the dramatic coastline by catamaran.

Bodrum, Turkey

Bodrum overlooks two picturesque bays on the Bodrum Peninsula on Turkey's Turquoise Coast. Explore the impressive interior of the 15th-century Castle of St Peter and the on-site Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Stroll through the pedestrian alleyways lined with quaint boutiques and cafes in the nearby Old Town. Pay a visit to the ruins of Mausoleum of Mausolus to gain insight into one of the seven wonders of the ancient world or stop by Myndos Gate, the last remaining part of the old fortress wall. Bodrum Theatre dates back to Roman times and has been beautifully restored; it now hosts local theatre performances and events during the summer months. Take a wander around the marina and maybe take a boat trip out to offshore islands. No trip to Bodrum would be complete without indulging in a spot of retail therapy in the bustling shops at the Bazaar.

Rhodes, Greece

The Port of Rhodes sits on the northern edge of Rhodes Island — 12 miles off the coast of Turkey. With just a short walk you’ll reach the Citadel of Rhodes and its various boutiques, cafes and souvenir shops. Immerse yourself further in Rhodes’ fascinating history and visit the Palace of the Grand Masters. You can take a short 50-minute taxi ride to Lindos and witness the breathtaking Acropolis of Lindos. There are also an abundance of beaches on Rhodes to chill out and relax.

Day 9-10

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos sits in the Aegean Sea with traditional white-washed houses and bright-blue waters. Wander the twisting narrow lanes, which were originally designed to confuse pirate invaders, and discover quaint shops and boutiques. Visit stylish beach bars, modern restaurants and see the iconic 16th-century Venetian windmills which overlook Mykonos town — the island's capital.

Scarlet Lady

Overview

Scarlet Lady joins the new Virgin Voyages fleet in 2020 and is the first of four ships on order. She is being built for Sailors aimed at like-minded travellers seeking a 24/7 festival at sea with no kids, no set dining times, no buffets, and no limits. An eye-catching mystical Mermaid adorns Scarlet Lady’s bow and, in her maiden season, she’ll set sail with a maximum of 2,700 Sailors aboard for four and five-night itineraries to Cuba and the Caribbean out of Port of Miami. Her 1400 cabins and suites are an experience in themselves - especially the 78 Tom Dixon-designed RockStar Quarters - 93% boast a sea view and 86% have a balcony. Basic drinks, tips, and round-the-clock dining are all included in the cruise fare with 20 unique restaurants, cafes, lounges, and eateries just waiting to be discovered. The Vitamin Sea concept includes detoxing and retoxing pursuits so you return home refreshed and rejuvenated after your cruise experience. Virgin Voyages also aims to be environment-friendly by banning single-use plastics and by using recyclable and reusable materials on board. Realign your chakras with yoga at The Crow's Nest or pamper yourself with a seaweed wrap at Redemption Spa. You can even immortalise your time at sea with a tattoo at Ink Life or get ready for the night ahead at Stubble & Groom barber shop and Dry Dock blow out bar. Since their early days in the 70s, Virgin have been spotting and nurturing the best talent; this ethos will continue with the acts on Scarlet Lady.
