The International Date Line passes through the mid-Pacific Ocean and follows a 180 degrees longitude north-south line on the surface of Earth - England's Greenwich being the prime meridian at the 0 degrees longitude line - and is recognised worldwide as the official boundary where one calendar day starts and another calendar day ends. If you're travelling through the Pacific Ocean you're often recommended to change your watch by 24 hours to stop the confusion of losing or gaining a day!
