MS Trollfjord

Overview

MS Trollfjord joined the Hurtigruten fleet in 2002 as sister ship to MS Midnatsol. Setting sail with a maximum of 500 passengers, this popular cruise ship takes in Norway's dramatic coastline and the wonders of the Arctic Circle. Step on board and discover a comfortable interior that showcases a beautiful two-tier lounge, exclusive concierge area, local Norwegian wood and stonework, and walls adorned with original art and photographs. Life on board is laid-back and friendly with a casual dress code and fully furnished cabins. MS Trollfjord focuses on vibrant and exciting experiences ashore, alongside amazing sights you can enjoy on deck as you cruise around Norway and beyond. Whatever time of year you choose, the Northern Lights in winter and summer time midnight sun are undoubtedly highlights of your cruise. Days at sea open up a world of relaxation. Relax on the sun deck during the summer and curl up with a book in the library on cooler days. Keep your family up-to-date with your adventures in the Internet cafe or simply watch the world float by in the chic Panorama Lounge. Our three onboard restaurants offer an exciting flavour of Norway’s past, present, and future. Each one embraces traditional preservation methods that have been tried and trusted by Norwegians through thousands of Arctic winters, such as drying, fermenting, and salting.

Our talented team of chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers have gathered, refined, and reimagined recipes from across Norway, past and present, crafting them into the most delicious dishes and drinks for a true feast for your senses.

While sailing on a Signature Voyage, you can eat dry-aged beef served by a chef with a story about the meat’s provenance, drink beer made from water sourced in the Trollfjord, and learn all about the distinctly Nordic spirit, aquavit.

Best of all, the journey from fjord or field to fork is short but deliciously sweet. As we sail, you’ll pass the very fjords that gave us our fish, the mountains that grew our herbs, and the pastures that reared our lamb.

Onboard Tastings and demonstrations

While sailing with us you won’t just visit the ports of the Norwegian coast – you’ll taste them too.

Depending on what’s in season, you might get to sample cured reindeer from Finnmark, shrimp freshly caught from the icy waters of Lyngenfjord, or even Norway’s golden nectar – aquavit.

For sailings departing between 20 September 2025 – 31 March 2026, you will receive a 6-day southbound or 7-day northbound Coastal Express Classic Voyage, departing between 20 September 2026 and 31 March 2027. For sailings departing between 20 September 2026 – 31 March 2027 you will receive a 6-day southbound or 7-day northbound Coastal Express Classic Voyage, departing between 20 September 2027 and 31 March 2028. For sailings departing between 20 September 2027 – 31 March 2028 you will receive a 6-day southbound Coastal Express Classic Voyage, departing between 20 September 2028 and 31 March 2029. We promise that in the event of there being no Northern Lights occurrence as defined above, you will receive a Original Coastal Express Classic Voyage, departing between 20 September and 31 March of the following year in an unspecified inside twin cabin on a full-board basis free of charge. This offer applies to all new bookings of voyages of 11 days or more along the Norwegian coast aboard The Coastal Express, The North Cape Line, and Hurtigruten from Hamburg, departing between 20 September and 31 March. A Northern Lights occurrence is defined as a sighting from the ship which is recorded by the ship’s deck officers and which is announced to passengers on board. An occurrence can last anything from a few minutes to a matter of hours, and the ships decision as to whether the Northern Lights occurred is final. We announce occurrences of the Northern Lights on board the ship and you have the option of announcements direct to your cabin or suite. We hope that you will experience seeing the Northern Lights whilst on your voyage with us of 11 days or more, but we cannot be held responsible if you don’t. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the offer at any time. Please check at the time of booking as to the current status of the offer. The offer must be claimed and booked within 28 days from your return date. A choice of departure dates will be given. The complimentary voyage includes accommodation in an unspecified inside twin cabin on a full-board basis. Cabin upgrades are available at an additional cost and subject to availability. Suite upgrades are not available with this offer.
