Overview
Avalon Waterways' fleet of luxury river ships welcomed Avalon Illumination in 2014. Step aboard this small and intimate Suite Ship® and explore the rivers of Europe and beyond with a maximum of 165 fellow passengers on board. The attentive crew are on hand to ensure you make the most of your time on board and there are spacious public areas where you can relax, socialise, or simply take in the ever-changing views. The ship's five decks include two decks of stylish suites with unique open-air balconies and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows; equally-matched by elegant dining venues, bars and lounges, and abundant leisure amenities. Most mornings, Avalon Illumination drops anchor at a new port of call where you'll find fascinating sightseeing options and a variety of activities.
Food & Drink
Start your day with a hearty buffet breakfast in the open-seating Dining Room; early/late riser and room service breakfasts are also an option too. The lunch buffet presents international dishes and also carving and pasta stations. Afternoon tea of tea, coffee, and cakes is the perfect way to unwind after time ashore. Each evening, a four-course dinner with a variety of seasonal dishes is served to your table. A welcome dinner on your first evening and a five-course farewell dinner on your final night enhance your dining experiences. Discover Avalon Fresh healthy dishes at every meal and Healthy Corner choices to suit your dietary needs. Alternatively, take your seat for a light lunch and dinner with regional specialities and wine in the Panorama Bistro or choose from the lunch menu in the Sky Bistro on the Sky Deck. Relax with your morning coffee and stunning vistas in Observation Lounge or enjoy a few quiet moments with a gin and tonic in the Club Lounge. Sip cocktails with a view on Sky Deck or visit Panorama Lounge bar for premium spirits; Happy Hour takes place every evening and includes featured drink specials. The Captain's reception with sparkling wine and canapés is your chance to mix with the friendly crew and fellow guests. There is a self-serve 24-hour beverage station with complimentary tea, hot chocolate, and premium coffee so you can make a drink whenever you wish. Complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, tea, and coffee are also available with lunch and dinner.

Terms & Conditions
Book a 2027 European river cruise with Avalon Waterways between 01st July 2026 and 30th September 2026 and receive €100 per cabin onboard credit. It's a credit added to your shipboard account, deducted from your final bill for onboard purchases up to the day before departure. Since gratuities are included in your holiday price, you can use the credit for excursions booked onboard, although not for those pre-booked before departure. The credit can also be applied to drinks or laundry expenses incurred on board. It can be combined with current discounts and welcome-back credits where available. This offer is not applicable to groups consisting of 8 or more. The credit cannot be exchanged for cash, is non-refundable, non-transferable, and may be withdrawn at any time. It applies to new bookings only and is not valid for bookings made within 7 days of departure or for medical expenses. Any unused credit cannot be carried forward.
